Red Cross Classroom Training

Advance registration and payment are required. Courses are subject to minimum enrollment. Also, maximum 10 students per class, first come, first serve. Refund requires 24-hour notification.

Textbooks: Each participant is required to have a copy of the appropriate text for the selected course. Textbook prices are not included in the course fee and range from $2.50 to $51.95.

First Aid - Responding to Emergencies - $65

This is a 24 hour course. Participants must attend all course dates within the month.

Intermediate First Aid principles and skills with more detailed information on special situations and preventative measures. Required by NYS for staff at Children's camps and school athletic coaches. Now includes CPR/AED-Adult, Child and Infant. Includes Epinephrine Auto-Injection Training (for children's camp participants only).

LayResponder First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor - $150

Not currently scheduled

Participants must hold current certification in Adult CPR/AED, Child and Infant CPR, and First Aid. We are also going to be adding the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor in the last class. Participants must hold current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer to take this level. Participants must attend all dates. The course fee includes the base level instructor textbooks.

For participants wanting the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Instructor level, there will be a cost of $12.99 for the participant textbook, and $23.98 for the instructor textbook.


Lifeguard Training - $200 (non-refundable)

Fee includes Lifeguard Training textbook and Pocket Mask.


Babysitter's Training - $40 (newly updated course)

By waiting list only.

Teaches youth age 11 or older the information needed to be a safe, responsible babysitter. Price includes Handbook, Emergency Reference Guide, and CD-ROM.


Pet First Aid - $25, 6 – 10 pm

Not currently scheduled. Call to be put on our waiting list.

This course explains how you can administer immediate help to your pet until you can get help from your veterinarian. Price includes textbook.

Class time is however long it takes participant to take test and show skills.

Participant can challenge any CPR and First Aid. Current certification is not required. Participant will take the written test and pass with an 80 average. The instructor will then give the participant a scenario of a medical problem. Participant will then show instructor that he/she knows what to do. There is no help or review from the instructor.


Attention Day Care Providers

There is a Grant Program that covers the cost of a number of classes for Day Care Providers. It is available only from about April/May to December 31. Participants are signed up on a first come first serve basis. Providers can call the office to be put on a waiting list. They can sign up for Adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR, Infant/Child CPR Review (must have current certification to do this class), and Child Care First Aid through the grant program.
