Wanted: Americorps*VISTA Volunteer!

NYS Emergency Preparedness Project

The New York State Emergency Preparedness Project will be bringing disaster education and emergency preparedness to low-income communities throughout New York State.  The project is looking for a member to serve in the Cortland Chapter of the American Red Cross (ARC).

The AmeriCorps*VISTA member at this site will provide many indirect services including volunteer recruitment and retention, working with community agencies, assisting with the local Citizen Corps Council, providing community education, training, and more!

AmeriCorps*VISTA is a full-time, one-year commitment.  While serving as an AmeriCorps*VISTA, you may not attend school or have other employment. The stipend for the entire year amounts to $9,792 upstate.  Following the year of completion, the VISTA is given either a $1,200 stipend or a $4,725 education award.
